WHIGS members who are members of Golf Clubs will already have a CONGU
Handicap and will play off their playing handicap applicable on the
day of a WHIGS meeting.
Those WHIGS members who are not in possession of a CONGU Handicap
will play off the handicap allocated by the WHIGS Committee on the
day of a WHIGS meeting. Such handicaps are not formally recognised
and therefore apply to WHIGS meetings only. The Secretary has no
authority to issue Handicap Certificates.
The Committee reserve the right to reduce the handicap of any member
at any time if considered appropriate, but in any case penalty shots
will be applied to the winners of competitions at WHIGS meetings
as follows:
For handicaps up to 10 - 1 shot
For handicaps 11 to 19 - 2 shots
For handicaps 20 to 28 - 3 shots
All such penalty shots will be applied to a members handicap until
the end of the WHIGS year following the WHIGS year in which they
were incurred.
Should a member win a second competition at a WHIGS meeting in
the same WHIGS year an additional penalty of 2 shots will be applied
to their handicap regardless of handicap.
A WHIGS year commences at the Christmas meeting and concludes after
the Autumn meeting.
